2005 MLAW-Maryland Legislative Agenda for Women Conference,
VOTE FOR 2026 LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS
MLAW 2026 Proposals for Ballot
On November 1st, Theresa Freligh and Caity Lovett attended the MLAW Fall Agenda conference where 21 proposals for bills to be introduced or reintroduced to the 2026 Maryland General Assembly. Several bills never made it to a vote last session, mostly due to time restrictions. Use the above link to read about each bill proposal. Not all of the initiates will make it to the MLAW final agenda or the focus of our AAUW-Maryland Public Policy Committee.
Please complete the SURVEY for our members to influence our chapter’s vote on the MLAW survey and our state committee. The rating system is 1-10, with 10 being the most important to you. Use “1” repeatedly for the least important, noting one proposal to be included. All others will be deferred. Complete and submit your answers no later than December 11th. AAUW_Maryland and our branch, AAUW_Harford will have one vote each in the MLAW survey. Any questions may be directed to Caity Lovett.
During the conference we heard from Delegate Susan day and Congresswoman Sarah ELFRETH. Both women reminded us of the need to have our voice heard at all levels of government. Here in Harford County, the need is magnified with the struggle to keep our Board of Education focused on the education and safety of our students.
